The Kawaguchi K-Cut is a 5 Axes Gate Cutting Robot. To learn more, please watch the video below.
About the K-cut
Speed, Accuracy, Reliability, and Ease of Use
This robot is fast. Its axis travels faster than 2ft. per second. The K-cut is capable of degating and sorting molds ranging from 1 to 100 cavities, within cycle time.
It also achieves fast setup times. With easy programming and a removable memory card capable of storing 20 different programs and versatile fixtures, this robot is up and running in less than 10 minutes.
Speed isn't worth much without accuracy and that is why the K-cut is designed to meet or exceed vestige requirements at any operating speed. The 5 axes of movement achieve greater than 0.1mm repeatability to the cutting devices which increase that accuracy to so close you will need a microscope to see the vestige. Because of its accuracy this is the gate removal system of choice for many optical and medical parts. The K-cut is also capable of running error free for days, months, and even years on end.
You can roll the K-Cut into place next to the press. There are no cables to connect because the K-cut uses a photoelectric sensor to initiate the cycle's start. All you need is air and electricity. At each cycle the robot receives a hand off, positions the part in a locator (to achieve accuracy), then delivers the parts to the cutter(s) where they are removed and sorted, and finally the gate is dropped into regrind and the K-cut is back waiting for the next part.
We are very proud of our technical support, which we believe to be the best in the industry. We include an English and Japanese manual, reference video, a training CD ROM, a web site and 24 hour free support.
The K-cut 725 is 6 inches longer in every stroke than the K-cut 520 and performs to the same specifications as the K-Cut 520.
